Mundane (2012) Accompanying text piece.

Wake up, shower, get dressed, have breakfast, have tea... Wake up, get dressed, have breakfast, have tea...
Wake up, shower, get dressed, have tea...
Wake up, get dressed, have tea...

Get dressed, have tea...

Somewhere between the mad hatter’s tea party and every day’s boredom a lone character sits by the table. Useless pigeon feathers weight down his shoulders. He waits irritably... and then he sips. His clumsy hands have already mastered those ritualistic gestures of pouring, mixing, pouring, sipping, pouring, mixing, pouring, sipping and sipping... and sipping. He prays with the tea; yet each time the sound of rattling two pence coins distracts the evil thoughts, impatiently and awkwardly he sighs. He calls the spirit of a fox, which glares at him at night from his back garden in Dulwich. As the only guest at his daily fancy dress party, the modern shaman sips to celebrate the everyday.
